I like it better when someone enjoys my work. That person being Ryuu, warms me from the inside. Maybe I’m having indigestion and there’s nothing to worry about.

Ryuu’s not sure where he is, or how he had ended up there, but he sure likes the way he is feeling. His ass stings in a pleasant way and he is relaxed and content right down to his bones. He stretches and his hand pats the sheets next to him, searching for Brad.

“Who’s Brad?”

The thunderous voice coming from the vicinity of his feet wakes his brain and allows the memories of the last two days and a half rush back in.

“I won’t ask again. Just now, you were searching for this Brad in bed with you. Mind telling me why?”

Uh-oh. His dragon lover or Naga—whatever that is—doesn’t sound too impressed with him this morning. Ryuu squints in the dim light, watching Troy as he crouches near his feet, body poised as if ready to spring and attack.

“Brad is my ex.”

“Oh? Are you sure?” Troy probably noticed some hesitation because he recoils and his aquamarine eyes get stormy and cold.

“Tsk, tsk. And to think that I can still be fooled by a pretty face at my age. Did you have a deal with Hermes to get me laid? Was that why you reacted so well to me not being human? Did Hermes “prep” you before sending you my way?”

“I was not “sent” your way! I was freezing in the damn snow in the path of your car! And nobody “prepped” me in a long time until today, when your fingers did! Brad and I, we should have long ago parted ways…”

“Is Brad the guy you were with at the coffee shop that day? Were you two on a date?”

Ryuu face slackens and pales in shock. He vaguely remembers checking out a blue haired guy that day, but not the details. He and Brad had been on a date. They had been trying to patch whatever was left of their relationship on Valentine’s Day. Only, Brad had insisted he dress as a woman. And act as a woman for the entire time. Ryuu didn’t mind doing it, but he minded being made to feel as if he wasn’t enough the way he was and he needed to be someone else. He wasn’t a woman and he had no desire of ever being one, his drag act notwithstanding.

“We were on a date, but…”

“Get dressed.”

“What? Why? No!”

“I’m taking you home. I think it’s better for both of us.”

Ryuu gets up and pulls on his pants quickly. Not because he’s listening, but because it’s turning ridiculous, arguing with the big lug with all his bits hanging out. He’s past the point of no return and he knows it. Ryuu’s invested in making this—whatever it is between them—work. The last three nights and two days spent with Troy have been amazing. Ryuu suspects part of that was Troy being whatever he is, but Ryuu knows his own mind and heart.
